Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2022 Crowns Its Champion

Organized by Fairchild Television, and co-organized by Talentvision Television, Fairchild Radio and Popular Lifestyle Entertainment Magazine (PLEM), the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2022 crowned its Champion on November 26th. #4 Nicole Xu took home the Champion title, with #3 Yvonne Shen clinching the 1st Runner-Up title and the Kingscross Hyundai Miss Photogenic Award. 2nd Runner-Up title and the Bigen Silky Hair Award went to #6 Addy Luo, with #2 Claire Wu taking home the Miss Congeniality Award.
The 8 Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant finalists put their best foot forward to put everything that they learnt in the past couple of months to the test.
Master of Ceremonies duo Leo Shiu and Matthew Mui, alongside Master of Ceremonies (Interlude) duo Oi Yiu Wong and Albert Cheung, ensured that November 26th was an evening that audiences would not forget. The esteemed judging panel included Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009 1st Runner-Up & Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2008 1st Runner-Up Ms, Skye Chan, Renowned Image Consultant Ms. Jumbo Lau, Professor in Design at York University/Order of Ontario Recipient Prof. Albert Ng and Renowned Radio & Television Host Mr. Chung Ming Poon. Official Auditor for the Pageant was Mr. Alexis Yam, CA.
After 2 years hiatus of in-person events, the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant made its triumphant return to the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto.
In the individual talent show segment, the 8 finalists showcased their varying talents. #5 Shannon violin performance and #7 Rachel's erhu performance showcased the wonderful dynamic that can be created when East meets West. #1 Vivian's yoga performance and #8 Angel's dance performance showed that one should never be bound by their own comfort zone. #2 Claire Chinese flute and dance performance and #4 Nicole's guzheng performance showed the elegance of Eastern musical instruments. And last but not least, #3 Yvonne's Latin dance performance and #6 Addy's k-pop dance ritual ended the talent section on a high note.
In the swimsuit Q&A session, the contestants took their favorite anime characters as the theme and wore uniquely designed swimsuits. In addition to showing off their graceful figures, the Master of Ceremonies duo had the finalists sharing their wisdom and knowledge.
In the fashion show segemnt, the 8 finalists took the audience into the castle to explore the secrets and enter the incredible world of magic and animation. With poise and elegance, the finalists exuded their unique fashionable and cute temperament from the inside out.
Guest performer Patrick Tang took to the stage to perform some of his own hits. Under the company of the 8 finalists, his performance garned loud applause from the audience.

Taking You To Experience The Toronto International Film Festival

The annual Toronto International Film Festival returns, bringing together prestige and internationally renowned directors and actors. From September 8th to September 18th, Fairchild Television will take to the red carpet at the 47th annual Toronto International Film Festival to bring you the latest award news and chat with superstars.
Jung Woo-sung: Korean actor Jung Woo-sung said 'hi' to Fairchild Television viewes as he took to the red carpet to promote his new action film A Man Of Reasons.
Huang Ji & Ryuuji Otsuka: Most of Huang Ji's film stories originate from her personal experience when she was young, and the characters are delicately portrayed, which truly shows the fragility and helplessness of rural women. The couple will then shoot a film about middle-aged women.
Hai-Qing: Actress Hai-Qing uses her remarkable acting skills to show the emotional side to a hated character. Tje narrative method often chooses a very small entry point, quietly watching the protagonist with a fixed lens, adding small variables, and waiting for fate to happen.
Mbithi Masya: Director Mbithi Masya's second film at the festival after premiering at TIFF in 2016, Baba is a short film about a young boy with supernatural powers who tries to protect his innocence through his superpowers.
Opening Day: The 47th annual Toronto International Film Festival kicks off with an impresslive lineup of over 200 movies to be screened.
Michelle Yeoh: Famous Chinese-American actress Michelle Yeoh arrived in Toronto and won the inaugural Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Yeoh's experience spans over four decades and multiple continents.
Wang Xiaoshuai: Directed by Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai, "The Hotel" uses black and white to create an illusion of time and space, highlighting its responsibilities and functions in both art and culture.
Featured Movies:
- Brendan Fraser, well-known as the star of "The Mummy" series, gained weight to reach 600 pounds in order to film director Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale". He received unanimous praise and a tribute at the Toronto International Film Festival.
- Explore musical creatives and spiritual journey with Moonage Daydream, the latest documentary about British rock star David Bowie from renowned director Brett Morgen!
- Hollywood star Nicolas Cage's new film Butcher's Crossing has moviegoers in awe. The story follows protagonist Andrew who dropped out of Harvard and wanted to get away from the shackles of his parents and society to experience the West.

Starting at the early hours of 7am on September 15th, Fairchild Radio AM1430 DJ's kicked off the annual Fairchild SickKids Fundraising Day.
Overwhelming support for Fairchild Radio, Fairchild Television and SickKids Hospital poured in. As of 6pm on September 15th, the donation amount surpassed a whopping $430,000! Thank you all for your support towards healthier future for the next generation!

Organzied by Fairchild Television and co-organized by Talentvision TV, Fairchild Radio and Popular Lifestyle Entertainment Magazine (PLEM), the Mandarin Profile Wards Online Voting 2022 officially announced its award receipients for its five award categories - alongside the Best of the Best Award - including the Business Leadership Award, the Immigrant Excellence Award, the Entrepreneurial Elite Award, the Female Empowerment Award and the Social Contribution Award.
