He Weifang (played by Yang Zi), the daughter of a merchant, meets Jiang Changyang (played by Li Xian) from the prestigious Yaguan Chang’an, and the two form a partnership between artisan and investor. With her exceptional skills in cultivating rare peonies and her sharp business acumen, He Weifang leads a group of women who have faced hardship to run a flower shop together. Against all odds and in a society steeped in male dominance, she carves out a place for herself and her team.

As He Weifang grows closer to Jiang Changyang, she begins to see through his infamous reputation as the "most corrupt official in the land." In truth, he is a man of noble heart — flamboyant on the outside, yet pure within, and a strategic force working for the good of the nation. After personally experiencing the struggles of the common people and gaining a deeper understanding of the true value of peonies, He Weifang resolves to shift her focus toward public-benefit industries that uplift the people.
